Payout & Dispute Policy
This page is the source of truth for how money moves on CreatorMarkt: when the flat tier is paid, how the bonus tier is measured, what happens if a post gets taken down, the takedown window after going live, and how disputes are resolved. By using the platform you accept this policy.
1. The two payout tiers
Every accepted application creates two escrow holds funded by the brand at acceptance time:
- Flat tier — paid for posting approved content live on the agreed platform(s).
- Bonus tier — paid only if the post hits the per-platform views goal set on the brief, before the bonus deadline expires.
The amount of each tier is fixed at acceptance and cannot be changed after escrow is funded. All amounts are in Nigerian Naira (NGN), stored in kobo (1 NGN = 100 kobo).
2. When the flat tier pays
- Brand approves the draft (or the brief auto-approves drafts).
- Creator publishes the content on their own social account on the agreed platform(s).
- Creator submits the live URL(s) on CreatorMarkt.
- Our scraper successfully fetches the post and confirms it is publicly visible (or the brand manually verifies it).
- The flat tier is released to the creator's saved Paystack recipient.
Flat-tier payouts are typically released within one business day of verification. Paystack sometimes takes longer; we are not responsible for delays at the bank.
3. How the bonus tier is measured
Each brief sets a per-platform views goal (for example: 10,000 views on Instagram, 30,000 on TikTok) and a bonus deadline expressed in days from the date the brand approves the post going live. For a multi- platform brief the views goal is platform-specific and a creator only earns the bonus on the platform(s) where the goal is met.
We read views from the public surface of each platform via Apify (for Instagram, TikTok, X, and Facebook) and the YouTube Data API. The snapshot used is the latest successful scrape on or before the bonus deadline. View counts as reported by the platform are authoritative; we do not adjust them.
If the views goal is reached before the deadline, the bonus tier is released to the creator on the next scrape cycle that confirms the threshold. If the goal is not reached by the deadline, the bonus is refunded to the brand as platform credit (see §6).
4. What counts as "going live"
The post must:
- Be on the social account the creator declared in their CreatorMarkt profile, on the platform agreed in the brief.
- Be public — not on a private account, not a story-only post, not a draft.
- Match the approved draft. We allow normal posting tweaks (caption rewording, hashtag adjustments) but not material changes to the creative.
5. Takedown window after going live
Creators commit to keeping the approved content live for at least 90 days after the brand approves it going live, unless the brief explicitly states a different window.
- If the post is taken down by the creator before the flat tier is released, the flat tier will not pay.
- If the post is taken down before the bonus deadline, the bonus tier will not pay regardless of view count, and the bonus is refunded to the brand as platform credit.
- If the post is taken down after both tiers have been released, but inside the 90-day window, the brand can open a dispute (§7) and we may claw back the flat tier minus a 25% kill-fee, at our discretion based on what was already delivered.
- If the post is taken down by the platform itself (DMCA strike, community guidelines, account suspension), the creator must notify us within 48 hours. We will assess case by case — innocent platform action is treated differently from policy-violating content.
6. What happens to unspent bonuses
When a bonus tier expires unmet, the held amount converts to a brand credit on CreatorMarkt. Brand credit:
- is applied automatically against the next campaign the brand funds;
- does not expire;
- is not refundable to a card or bank account, except where required by Nigerian consumer law.
7. Disputes
Either side can open a dispute by emailing disputes@creatormarkt.app within 30 days of the relevant event (post going live, takedown, deadline expiry, or payout). Include the brief, your account email, and what you're asking for.
While a dispute is open we may pause the affected escrow and any related payouts. We aim to resolve disputes within 7 business days. Possible outcomes include: full or partial release, full or partial refund to the brand, claw-back of an already-released payout, platform-credit issuance, or termination of the engagement.
Our resolution is final on the platform. Both sides keep their underlying legal rights — see §13 of the Terms of Service for governing law and venue.
8. Chargebacks & reversals
Brands agree not to initiate a chargeback on a Paystack funding without first opening a dispute with us. Chargebacks raised in violation of this clause may result in account suspension and recovery of the disputed amount plus the bank's fees. If a chargeback succeeds after the flat tier has already been paid out to a creator, we will work with both sides to resolve it — the creator is not retroactively liable for a chargeback caused by brand fraud.
9. Fraud & metric manipulation
We monitor for fake views, view-buying, engagement pods, and other artificial inflation. If we have reasonable grounds to believe a creator's metrics are inauthentic we may withhold the bonus tier, revert it to brand credit, or claw back a bonus already paid. We do not need to disclose detection methods.
10. Payout charges
CreatorMarkt does not charge creators a payout fee. Your bank may charge an inbound transfer fee outside our control.
11. Tax
Payouts are gross. You are responsible for declaring and paying any income tax owed in your jurisdiction. We may report payout totals to Nigerian tax authorities where required.
12. Changes
Already-funded escrows are governed by the policy version in effect at the time the brand funded them — which is the version stamped on the brief receipt. Future briefs are governed by the current version on this page.
